PRESENTATION TEMPLATE for the defence of the final thesis available for download HERE. (The presentation background may be changed as desired. The structure of the presentation must be retained.)

Final Project Topic:

  • We offer a selection of topics proposed by individual lecturers on the Art Therapy course (see below).
  • If you choose your own topic, you must agree this in advance with your chosen Art Therapy course lecturer. (If you choose your own topic, you may draw on your own practice or experience with the subject – though this is not a requirement).
  • If you are interested in an ‘unconventional’ topic, we recommend checking the available literature in advance.

Thesis scope:

  • The thesis must be at least 20 pages of body text (excluding introductory pages – title page, assignment brief, table of contents – as well as the bibliography, appendices, figures, etc.).
  • The final thesis comprises a theoretical and a practical section, with 50 per cent theory and 50 per cent practice (i.e. at least 10 pages of theory and at least 10 pages of practice).

Structure of the final thesis:

INTRODUCTION

  • Overview of the thesis’s content, reasons for choosing the topic, reasons for the topic’s importance, the author’s expectations, and the approach to addressing the selected issue – 1 page of text

THEORETICAL SECTION

  • Theoretical content on the chosen topic (citations from the literature – as per the supervisor’s instructions)

PRACTICAL SECTION

  • Objective
  • Techniques
  • Procedure
  • Conclusion to the practical section, reflection on individual sessions (further information will be provided by the supervisor of the thesis)
  • Case studies may also be used in the practical section of the thesis

CONCLUSION

  • The conclusion of the entire thesis should correspond with the introduction. It is advisable to reiterate the aim of the thesis, how the aim was achieved, what results the author reached, and the methodology employed. It is important to explain the reasons for the success or, where applicable, the failure to achieve the objective. (1 page of text)
