Dormitory of the College of Polytechnics Jihlava

The College of Polytechnics Jihlava has student dormitories which are intended for student accommodation and when there is a free bed capacity, accommodation is also offered to the public. The dormitories are located in Jihlava at Brtnická 13 a Fritzova 21.

Information for students

Full-time students who are interested in accommodation at the VŠPJ halls of residence can submit an application form, which is included in the e-application form after admission to study. All the necessary information for submitting an application is provided in the document Criteria for accommodation in VŠPJ halls of residence 17 July 2023 - 30 June 2024.

Accommodation for students of combined studies is arranged individually in the form of a single overnight stay. Accommodation is possible only in case of free bed capacity at the dormitory Brtnická 13, Jihlava.

Capacity and equipment of the accommodation facility

Kolej Brtnická 13, Jihlava

Kolej Brtnická 13, Jihlava is about 15 minutes walk from the school or about 10 minutes by public transport. There is a main building and a villa on the premises.

• The main building, which also houses the dormitory's porterage, has a capacity of 105 beds. In the main building (three floors) there are 12 double rooms, 16 triple rooms, 2 quadruple rooms and 5 quintuple rooms. Sanitary facilities are shared in the corridors. Room equipment: beds with storage space including bedding, desks, wardrobes. Bed linen is changed once every four weeks.  Wireless internet is included in the price. There is a shared kitchen on each floor equipped with a microwave, kettle and electric cookers. Students must bring their own dishes. There are lockable fridges in the corridors shared by 2-3 rooms. Students are responsible for cleaning their own rooms during their stay. The dormitory provides cleaning of common areas. It is possible to rent a vacuum cleaner, iron, clothes dryer at the porter's office. The dormitory is equipped with a washing machine, where it is possible to wash clothes in the washing machine for a fee. There is a study room in the building - a common room.

• Villa - has a capacity of 16 student beds. On the first floor there is a cell where there is 1 double and 2 triple rooms, a common kitchen with a fridge, gas hob, kettle and microwave. There is also a bathroom and toilet in the cell. The rooms are equipped with rollaway beds with storage space including bedding, desks and wardrobes. Bed linen is changed once every four weeks. Students can use the common room in the main building. Students are responsible for cleaning their own rooms during their stay. It is possible to rent a vacuum cleaner, iron, clothes dryer at the concierge desk. The dormitory provides cleaning of common areas. For a fee, laundry can be washed in the washing machine in the main building.
  
  

Kolej Fritzova 21, Jihlava

Kolje Fritzova 21, Jihlava is near the University of Applied Sciences in the Legionaries Park.

• Kolej has a capacity of 19 beds - 8 double and 1 triple room. Sanitary facilities are shared in the corridor. The kitchenette is equipped with basic utensils. There are two fridges with freezer, cooker, kettle, microwave and washing machine. The rooms are equipped with rollaway beds with storage space including bedding, desks and wardrobes. Bed linen is changed once every four weeks. Students are responsible for cleaning their own rooms during their stay. The dormitory provides cleaning of common areas.
• Room fees for students of the VŠPJ: Fritzova dormitory 3 900,-/month.
  
  

Criteria for accommodation in the VŠPJ halls of residence 17 July 2023 - 30 June 2024

Criteria for student accommodation - full-time study 

Preferences for accommodation requests will be considered according to:
a) date of application
b) date of payment of the reservation deposit

Students with disabilities (PWD-PWD, PWD-CI and PWD-ZZ) will be accommodated on a priority basis.

Students who have been allocated accommodation have the right to enter into an accommodation contract. This will be signed by the student on the day of arrival in the dormitory. 

Application process and deadlines

Current students of the VŠPJ submit their application electronically in IS between 22 May and 19 June 2023. A student who has applied for accommodation and has decided not to join the dormitory must submit a written notice no later than 1 September 2023. After this date, the deposit will not be refunded.

Future first year students of the College of Education full-time students submit an application as part of the e-application form after admission and enrolment in IS. The deposit will be refunded if the bed reservation is cancelled in writing before 1 September 2023. If the bed reservation is cancelled in writing after 1 September 2023, or if the student does not join the accommodation, the deposit will not be refunded. 

An accommodation booking deposit

By depositing the deposit, the student confirms the accommodation booking. The deposit must be paid before signing the accommodation contract. The compulsory accommodation booking deposit is set at 4 000 CZK. The deposit will remain in the student's account for the duration of the accommodation, will be settled on the date of termination of the contractual relationship, and will be credited with any damages and losses incurred by the accommodation contract early withdrawal by the accommodation provider. 

The deposit will be refunded to the account from which it was transferred within 30 days after the termination of the accommodation, as well as upon termination, abandonment, interruption or expulsion from studies - upon written confirmation from the Student Department of the University of Applied Sciences.

Accommodation termination

The accommodation contract expires on the expiry of the period for which it was agreed.

The accommodated person may withdraw from the accommodation contract before the termination of the contract without giving reasons. In this case, the guest is obliged to pay a cancellation fee equal to the price of two months' accommodation. The cancellation fee is defined as the damage incurred by the accommodation provider by early cancellation of the contract.

It is also possible to withdraw from the contract by unilateral termination of the contract by the host. The notice period is two calendar months and starts on the first day of the month following the date of delivery of the notice to the host. If the notice is given in writing two months in advance after delivery of the notice to the dormitory concierge, no cancellation fee is payable.

Termination Request

Withdrawal may be due to the resident's withdrawal, interruption or expulsion from their studies. The resident is required to pay a cancellation fee of CZK 500.

Information for the public

As part of its additional activities, the College of Polytechnics Jihlava also provides short-term accommodation for the public, employees and guests of the College in the dormitory building at ul. Brtnická 13 in Jihlava.
