The POLYFiK Film Club of the College of Polytechnics Jihlava warmly invites students, staff of the College of Polytechnics Jihlava, and the general public to a screening of the documentary Dajori. The film will be shown on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at 5:30 PM at the College of Polytechnics Conference Centre (entrance from the bus station, Tyršova Street) on the occasion of International Romani Day. After the screening, participants can look forward to a discussion with the director Nicolas Kourek. Free entry.
The feature-length documentary Dajori tells the story of the Huček family, who live an ordinary life in the border town of Varnsdorf. Marie decides to help her younger sister Iveta, who ends up on the streets with her nine children. Two-year-old Anabel and nine-year-old Samuel are placed in foster care with Marie and Enrico Huček. Over the following three years, the film captures key family events and relationships. We watch as Marie tries to show Sam and Anabel motherly love while raising them according to her own ideals. Additionally, Samuel is entering puberty, so Marie faces many challenges in his upbringing...
