FINAL THESIS

Schedule:

1. Setting the topic of the final thesis and making personal arrangements with the future thesis supervisor (consultant). Deadline - end of the winter semester of the second year of study.
2. Submission of the "Thesis Assignment" form electronically (to the staff of the Polytechnic Academy). The deadline for submission is 31 January in the second year of study.

1. Consultation on the thesis with the selected thesis advisor. The deadline is January to April of the second semester of the second year of study (with early selection of the topic and consultation with the thesis supervisor, earlier consultation is possible).
2. Submit or send one hard copy to the staff of the Polytechnic Academy of the College of Polytechnics Jihlava (remember to insert the Thesis Assignment Form between the title page and the table of contents). The study organizers will specify the date of submission of the thesis no later than 14 days before the final exams.
3. Submitting 1x electronic version of the thesis to the staff of the Polytechnic Academy of the College. The study's organisers will specify the deadline no later than 14 days before the final exams.
4. Submission of the thesis defence presentation of 5-7 slides. The PowerPoint presentation is sent by the student by e-mail no later than 4 days before the final exams to the staff of the Polytechnic Academy of the College (hana.brabencova@vspj.cz).

The hard copy and the electronic version of the thesis remain at the College for archiving.

The topic of the thesis:

• We offer a selection of topics from the individual Art Therapy course tutors (see below).
• If you choose your own topic, prior arrangement with the selected Art Therapy course tutor is required. (If choosing your own topic, you can base it on your profession or experience with the topic - but it is not compulsory).
• We recommend researching available literature sources in advance if you are interested in a "non-traditional" topic.

Scope of the thesis:

• The minimum length of the thesis is 20 pages of plain text (excluding introductory pages - title page, assignment page, table of contents, also excluding reference list and appendices, figures, etc.).
• The final thesis contains a theoretical and a practical part, with 50% theory and 50% practice (i.e. min. 10 pages of theory and min. 10 pages of practice).

Structure of the thesis:

INTRODUCTION

• Introduction to the content of the thesis, reasons for the choice of the topic, reasons for the importance of the topic, expectations of the author, how to address the selected issue - 1 page of text

Theoretical part

• Theoretical content on the selected topic (citations from literature - according to the instructions of the thesis supervisor)

PRACTICAL PART

• Objective
• Techniques
• Process
• Conclusion of the practical part, reflection on the individual sessions (the supervisor of the given thesis will provide more information)
• The case study can be used in the practical part of the thesis

CONCLUSION

• The conclusion of the whole thesis should correspond with the introduction. It is appropriate to repeat the aim of the work, how the aim was fulfilled, what results the author arrived at, and how he proceeded. It is essential to give proof of the success and possible failure to meet the objective. (1 page of text)
