Practice for participants of the Art Therapy course

  • PRACTICE ORGANISATION

The aim of the organization of practice in the Art Therapy course is to get acquainted with the operation of the selected organization, the activities carried out and the actual practical activity - application of the acquired theoretical knowledge from the existing teaching directly in practice, acquaintance with art therapy/therapeutic techniques applied under the guidance of experienced and in the given field university-educated lecturers. The knowledge gained during the internship can be used by the course participants in the preparation of their final theses.

 

  • FIRST YEAR

Scope of Practice: 8 hours

Scope of Practice: Training in specific art therapy and occupational therapy techniques without client contact

Place of practice: Psychiatric Hospital Havlíčkův Brod (unless otherwise specified by the professional guarantor of the training programme)

Leader of practice: University graduate lecturer in Art Therapy with active practice in the field (Bc. Jaroslav Mühlfeit)

Term of practice: 2nd semester of studies (usually March - April)

Organisation of the internship: will be provided by the staff of the Lifelong Learning Department of the VŠPJ

Internship evaluation: to be carried out by the trainee individually (form here)

 

  • FIRST YEAR PRACTICE PROGRESS:

The practices are carried out in groups (about 5-6 participants) and have the following content:

- introduction to the running of the organisation 

- art therapy

- individual and group work

- practical demonstrations of selected techniques (working with ceramics, watercolour, projection techniques, etc.)

- self-experience studio

- socialization themes in art therapy

The exact content of the practice will be determined by the practice supervisor.

 

  • NECESSARY TOOLS:

Participants will take with them:3 watercolor brushes (various sizes - small, medium, large), watercolors

Appropriate clothing is recommended (working with clay).

 

 

  • TH YEAR

Scope of Practice: 8 hours

Scope of practice: training in specific art therapy and occupational therapy techniques with direct contact with clients of a selected health care facility

Place of practice: Psychiatric Hospital Havlíčkův Brod (unless otherwise specified by the professional guarantor of the educational programme)

Leader of practice: University graduate lecturer in Art Therapy with active practice in the field (Bc. Monika Mühlfeitová/Bc. Jaroslav Mühlfeit)

Term of practice: 4th semester of study (usually April-May)

Organisation of internship: the offer of dates will be arranged and facilitated by the staff of the Lifelong Learning Department of the VŠPJ

Internship evaluation: to be carried out by the trainee individually (form here)

 

  • Second Year Practice Flow:

The practices are implemented INDIVIDUALLY (2-3 participants) and have the following content

- individual work with the client

- practical activities selected techniques (by the participant)

 (The exact content of the practicum will be determined by the practicum supervisor.)

 

 

  • PRACTICAL ADVICE

Practice sessions take place during the week, usually starting at 8:30am and lasting all day. Dates will be offered by the lead tutor of the placement and made available to participants by CŽV staff before the start of the summer term of the AR in question.

It is not possible to provide meals for participants, they can use the kitchen with equipment - microwave, kettle, etc. (we recommend taking food with you for the whole day).

 Participants will always receive further information from the staff of the Lifelong Learning Department of the University of Applied Sciences before the practice, or from the lecturer.
