Counselling and Career Centre of the VŠPJ

The mission of the VŠPJ Guidance and Career Centre is

• creating a safe environment for learning, campus life and diversity
• development of students and increase the employability of students in the labour market, support for gifted and socially disadvantaged students
• working with graduates
• providing equal conditions for access to studies (study without barriers) not only for students with specific needs

Academic Psychological Counselling

Academic Counseling serves to create a safe environment for learning and life in school and for diversity by providing:

• advice and assistance to students in the areas of adjustment to the college environment, academic and personal difficulties, mental health care, ethical principles, effective learning, etc.
• psychological counseling to students in cases of psychological difficulties, serious life and crisis situations, and other counseling in the areas of strengthening ethical principles, discrimination and sexual harassment, gender issues and diversity, balancing professional and personal life, etc.
• psychological counselling for academic and other staff members of the school in case of psychological difficulties, serious life and crisis situations and other counselling in the field of strengthening ethical principles and equal opportunities, discrimination and sexual harassment, gender issues and diversity, reconciliation of professional and personal life, building interpersonal relationships in the workplace, etc.

Student Development and Careers

The Counselling and Career Centre of the VŠPJ in the field of student development and career creates conditions for the development and increase of students' employability in the labour market and supports gifted and socially disadvantaged students by providing:

• development of general and entrepreneurial competences of students required in the labour market and leading to increased employability of graduates
• advice and support for students in the areas of personal growth, finding and fulfilling their creative potential when entering the labour market
• scholarships as a tool to support students
• information on the labour market, advice on entering the labour market and the organisation of a job fair JOBStart

Collaboration with graduates

The VŠPJ Counselling and Career Centre links the school with the application sphere in the area of cooperation with graduates and provides:

• involvement of alumni in the educational, creative and related activities of the school
• activities of the VSJ Alumni Club
• education, mentoring and coaching aimed at furthering the professional, vocational and personal development of graduates

Supporting students with specific needs

The VŠPJ Counselling and Career Centre in the area of support for students with specific needs creates conditions for barrier-free study and ensures:

• advice, support and information service for study applicants and students with specific needs
• personal, organisational and material and technical infrastructure to support students with specific needs
  
• support for academic and other staff who are involved in teaching students with specific needs
