I remember the beginning of my studies at VŠPJ very well. Everything was new to me and I was slowly getting lost at almost every corner. After a while I made friends here and we started a group which we still have after graduation. Even though sometimes we would goof off and catch up on assignments during the last hours until the deadline, I wouldn't trade those moments for anything. It gave more to one's life than just the theoretical basics of the curriculum. Thanks to the teachers who taught me the necessary skills I am now doing great and will always remember this school with a smile ...

After graduating from high school, I strongly considered going to college. I was discouraged by my maths exam, so I studied English for a year. When after a year the opportunity arose to enter the AI field without taking the entrance exam, I went for it because I enjoyed computers. But again, I stumbled into math. Instead of 2 semesters, I had a nice 4 semesters of it. But I am glad that I passed the math. I enjoyed my studies relatively... except for the last semester, when things got tough and the state exams were coming up. At that point, I wanted to turn around and throw it all away and give up. The next big hurdle was just the realization that I wasn't going to want to pursue this field in practice. I realized that a job as a programmer was definitely not going to be something I enjoyed. But thanks to my classmates and family, I continued on and successfully completed my studies. Even though there were such obstacles, I tried to look for the positives. I met a lot of new people, new opportunities opened up and most importantly, I had time to further develop Fotocamp (www.fotocamp.cz). School is supposedly a time guzzler. However, the opposite is true. School gives time and desire to do something extra (at least in my case). My bachelor's thesis opened up the possibility to create a project that will "work" in the years to come. It allowed me to create a project that I had previously had in mind, but there was not enough motivation and time to make this work a reality. Thanks to her, however, I am starting a project that focuses on balls all over the Czech Republic (www.pojdnaples.cz). In conclusion, I have to say that I'm glad I went to university and if I could turn back the clock, I would do it again :-)

I applied for 2 schools - MU in Brno and VŠPJ. I got into both schools and I hesitated for a long time which one to choose. All my classmates from high school denigrated VŠPJ when they found out that I had chosen this school as the class valedictorian - "come to Brno" they said. However, I decided to go to VŠPJ mainly because of the opportunity to do an internship during my studies, which is completely lacking at Brno universities. The internship allowed me to deepen my knowledge in the narrower area of my field, which I am most interested in. For one full semester (specifically the 4th semester of my studies) I got to experience what it is like to work in the field - and I found out that it is the right fit for me. I continued working after my internship during my final year of study. At the same time, right after the internship I got job offers in well-known IT companies thanks to the personal approach of the teachers and their contacts with former graduates. Through the internship, the University of Applied Sciences prepared me perfectly for the job market, for which I am very grateful!

Super was the computer networking course, which in my opinion has a very high contribution to practice. Although I didn't enjoy the compulsory work experience, I think it gave me quite a lot in terms of preparation for employment.
